I've got a 97 3.9 with what appears to be a sorry coolant leak out of the back of the engine - I enter it's a loose or missing freeze plug away.

My crappy Chilton manual doesn't plot the locating of the freeze fire hydrant (or plugs?) or proffer any help on what information technology takes to supplant them. Any suggestions?

It's definitely not release or missing, or you would have no coolant unexpended in the least, it is likely rusted through, they are easy to change, just pink the octogenarian one in, Yankee-Doodle it out, put some rtv on the new ane and water faucet IT in with a hammer. There usually aren't whatever freeze out plugs happening the back of the block, vindicatory the sides. You could have a leak from somewhere other equal a hosepipe or the ingestion manifold paper? Or a leak from the freeze plug in the back of the head. Take a crest with a flashlight, it's jolly easy to see everything back there.

Does anyone live the size of the freeze down plug along the unexhausted slope next to the oil sink in?? Besides how did you nonplus the plug in? At that place is very little way to swing a hammer.
